Infinite Golf Planning Guide

How Many Guests Can a Mobile Golf Simulator Handle?

One mobile simulator can support approximately 18–50 scheduled participant turns per active gameplay hour, depending on the turn format, staffing, and event rhythm.

Total event attendance can be much larger than the number of guests expected to take a simulator turn.

Infinite Golf will help shape the final format around your goals and confirmed live event hours.

Step 01

Capacity foundation

Start with the people who will actually take a turn.

Total event attendance describes everyone at the event. Unique simulator participants describe the number of different people expected to play. Scheduled participant turns count every planned attempt, including repeats. Active gameplay time is the portion of the live event schedule available for those turns.

A large surrounding attendance can still work well with one featured simulator activation. Not every attendee needs to enter the queue; organizers may choose open participation, scheduled groups, team representatives, repeat attempts, or a combination.

Define the turn before estimating the line.

One participant turn is one person receiving one scheduled attempt. A repeat attempt by the same person counts as another turn.

The chosen format may include one, two, or three swings within that scheduled attempt.

Separate live rental hours from active gameplay.

Four live event hours is the minimum rental block. Setup and teardown happen outside that block. Active gameplay time may be less than the full rental time when meals, presentations, breaks, or other programmed activities interrupt play. Larger or longer events may add additional live hours when the final rhythm is confirmed.

Step 02

Turn format

Choose how much experience fits inside each turn.

Every format uses one active hitting position. Fewer swings shorten the participant cycle, while additional swings give guests more recovery room. The final choice should reflect the organizer’s goals, expected participation, and event rhythm rather than attendance alone.

Three swings

Fuller participant experience

More recovery room makes this the most forgiving format for beginners and guests who value the experience over maximum reach.

Two swings

Balanced experience and event reach

A shorter turn can serve more scheduled attempts while still giving each participant a second swing.

One swing

Highest-flow event rhythm

Use a clear technical-reswing policy because each participant has less room to recover from a missed or unfamiliar first shot.

Three swings18–24/hour20–28/hour
Two swings24–32/hour28–38/hour
One swing32–42/hour40–50/hour

Step 03

Guest flow

Make one active hitting position feel calm and continuous.

The safest high-flow plan prepares each participant outside the enclosure and gives the operator a clear bay before the next person enters.

Seven stages for one legible participant turn

  1. The participant is registered or identified outside the hitting area.
  2. The flow host or operator gives the short format briefing.
  3. One next participant is staged outside the enclosure.
  4. The active golfer enters only after the operator clears the bay.
  5. The participant completes the scheduled swing or swings.
  6. The operator records the result while the golfer exits.
  7. The next participant enters after the bay is cleared.

Operator

Controls the simulator, clears the bay, handles resets, records results, and signals when the next participant may enter.

Flow host when planned

Manages the queue, prepares the next participant, repeats the format rules, and moves conversations or photos away from the hitting area.

Prepare the next guest before the bay clears.

Pre-brief the participant, keep the selected club ready, and state the technical-reswing rule before entry.

Keep one person inside the hitting area.

Separate the queue and spectators from the enclosure, and let the operator control entry after the active golfer exits.

Record the result as the participant exits.

Complete score recording during the transition so the next cleared participant can enter without an added pause.

Move coaching, prizes, and photos away from the transition.

Schedule breaks intentionally and continue longer conversations outside the active participant path.

Step 04

Example configurations

See the building blocks work together.

Illustrative configurations, not packages. These examples show how active gameplay time, turn format, and staffing create a preliminary planning window. They are not promises, required itineraries, or automatic recommendations.

Example 01

Social activation within a larger event

4 modeled active hours · 3 swings · one operator · 72–96 turns

Total event attendance may be substantially larger than the active queue, and participation may remain open or use scheduled windows.

Scheduled turns are not the same as unique people. Total event attendance remains independent, active gameplay may require a longer overall event schedule, and the organizer and Infinite Golf may adjust these building blocks together.

Example 02

Scheduled team or department rotation

4 modeled active hours · 2 swings · operator plus flow host · 112–152 turns

Teams, departments, or representatives may receive scheduled windows while the two staff roles support one active hitting position.

Scheduled turns are not the same as unique people. Total event attendance remains independent, active gameplay may require a longer overall event schedule, and the organizer and Infinite Golf may adjust these building blocks together.

Example 03

Extended feature event

6 modeled active hours · 1 swing · operator plus flow host · 240–300 turns

This format prioritizes event reach and uses a clearly stated technical-reswing policy.

Scheduled turns are not the same as unique people. Total event attendance remains independent, active gameplay may require a longer overall event schedule, and the organizer and Infinite Golf may adjust these building blocks together.

Breaks, presentations, meals, or other programmed pauses may require additional live rental time to provide the full modeled active gameplay hours used in an example.

Step 05

Optional estimator

Test a preliminary active-gameplay window.

Use the time guests can actually play, not total rental duration. Four live event hours is the minimum rental block, while the active gameplay window may be shorter when the event includes programmed pauses.

Time available for participant turns, excluding planned meals, presentations, or breaks.

Staffing

Compare an optional turn target with the selected preliminary range.

Initial estimate

4 active gameplay hours with a three-swing format and one operator: approximately 18–24 turns per hour, or 72–96 total participant turns.

Rental duration and active gameplay time may differ. Repeat attempts count separately, and programmed pauses may reduce completed turns.

Step 06

Confirm the event rhythm

Bring the planning inputs into one conversation.

Confirmation checklist

  • Total event attendance
  • Expected unique simulator participants
  • Expected repeat attempts
  • Preferred swings per participant turn
  • Live rental hours and active gameplay window
  • Meal, presentation, or break schedule
  • Open participation versus scheduled groups
  • Staffing and flow needs
  • Venue dimensions, power, surface, weather, and load-in facts

Capacity FAQ

Common questions before confirmation

Can a large event use one mobile golf simulator?

Yes. Total attendance can be much larger than simulator participation when the simulator is one featured activation and only a portion of guests are expected to take a turn.

How many participant turns per active hour are modeled?

The preliminary ranges run from 18–24 three-swing turns per hour with one operator to 40–50 one-swing turns per hour with an operator plus flow host. Two-swing formats sit between those ranges.

How should repeat attempts be counted?

Every repeat attempt by the same person is another scheduled participant turn, even though it does not add another unique participant.

Does an additional staff member create a second bay?

No. A planned flow host can prepare the next participant and manage the queue, but the event still uses one active hitting position.

Is active gameplay time the same as live rental time?

Not always. Setup and teardown are outside the live rental block, while meals, presentations, breaks, or other programmed pauses can reduce the active gameplay window inside it.

How do additional event hours change the rhythm?

Adding confirmed live hours can create more room for scheduled groups, pauses, or a larger participant-turn goal without prescribing a faster turn format.

Methodology

Use the ranges as preliminary planning guidance.

The figures on this page are preliminary operating estimates from the current single-bay planning model. Infinite Golf has not completed a formal first-party timing study or assembled a traceable source package for the comparable-operator ranges. Actual throughput varies with participant experience, turn format, queue organization, equipment behavior, staffing, and event interruptions. Confirm the model against the actual event schedule before treating it as a planning recommendation.
